Japan CCS held its annual CCS Forum and field trip on March 16 (SAT), 2024.
Hosted by Japan CCS, the annual “CCS Forum” was held in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, with an attendance of 190 people. In the morning, 39 people participated in a field trip to the Tomakomai CCS Demonstration Center.
The program consisted of the following:
Part 1 was a talk entitled “Learning from the bears – their mysterious habitat and physiology”, presented by Dr. Toshio Tsubota, DVM, PhD, Professor/Dipl. JCZWM, Director of the University Museum, Vice Dean, Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine, Hokkaido University.
Part 2 was a talk entitled “Japan’s CCUS policy and Tomakomai” given by Mr. Norihiko Saeki, Director for CCS Policy, the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI).
